The fact is once any army tastes the civil power it gets addicted to it and likes to cling to civil power at the peril of their death. And that is what has happened to Military council in Egypt. On the top of it the friendly relationship of the Egyptian Army Generals with the Israel's government and army facilitated to play a negative role to prolong the army rule in Egypt for two basic reasons;

First to retrieve Mubarak and all his associates from their morbid troubles.

Secondly to reinstate Mubarak back again to his previous position on the request of the PM of Israel made on the advent of the movement in Last January / February or continue military rule as long as possible for the safety and security of Israel.

In doing so Israel had another covert interest knowing that if army does try to do that then protesters would never agree to it and Egyptian army would not understand that the relationship of the army and the population henceforth would become very sour that will go in favor of Israel in the long run.

US role until now has been appreciated and it is expected to continue. Any inadvertent link with Israel's deep rooted clandestine conspiratorial move to confront the Military with the civil population of the country would severely damage the newly formed relationship which Israel might like to damage who can grantee it would not like to damage for its own interest.
